    Hello!

We are Takashi and Kyoko, a happily married couple living in San Jose, California. We dream of creating a family to share our lives and love with a child. Kyoko is looking forward to being a stay-at-home mom. Our niece, Tamaki joined us last year from Japan to live with us for a few years. We love having her with us and we are very excited to have a baby join us.

We admire the courage you have shown for taking this time to think about open adoption for your beloved baby. We welcome the opportunity to get to know you and to hear your thoughts, concerns and desires for your baby. We really hope that we can provide your child a secure, loving and happy home.

    About Us

We met in Japan and have been married for 17 years. Shortly after we were married we started trying to have a baby. Unfortunately, we have been unsuccessful and we hope and believe adoption will make our long-time dream of sharing our blessings with a baby come true.

We treasure our married life wholeheartedly. We know and trust each other entirely, and we spend most of our free time together, traveling, walking, watching movies and world news, and listening to music. Recently our niece joined our family and we have loved having a young person to share our life with! It has cemented our desire to become parents ourselves.

We especially enjoy taking trips abroad and to national parks throughout the US. Some of our favorite parks are here in California like Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. We love to learn about the history of the environment and see the wonders of nature. As parents, we plan to continue to travel and introduce our child the fun of discovering new places.

    Our Faith

We both practice Buddhism and follow the scriptures of Nichiren (a buddhist priest who lived in the 13th century Japan). We first met each other through a Buddhist community and continue to stay involved with other practitioners here in California and in Japan.

We feel very fortunate to follow the philosophy of world peace in our lives.  Buddhism teaches us that life itself is the most important thing, so we cherish all that we have.  We believe that all human beings are equal and we do our best to treat everyone with respect and kindness. Our faith also teaches us that we all possess an unlimited potential within us, so we never lose hope in anything life brings us.

    Our Friends

Most of our friends have children and we enjoy family gatherings like watching sporting events, going trick or treating on Halloween, and celebrating Thanksgiving  and Christmas. Our friends are very supportive of our adoption plan and looking forward to welcoming our child into our network of friends.

    About Takashi, by His Wife

Takashi is a gentle and quiet guy but also smart and funny.  He is very musical and likes to play the drums, compose music and sing. He has always enjoyed children, and when we lived in Japan he conducted a boys and girls group in our Buddhist community. I know he is looking forward to playing the drums and enjoying music with a son or daughter. Takashi is going to be a loving and patient father!

Takashi was born and raised in Japan and graduated from Waseda University, in Tokyo. He majored in Mathematics and Computer Sciences, and works as a software engineer. Currently he works in cloud computing technology in Silicon Valley. He enjoys working from home most of the time now, and his flexible schedule will be perfect when a baby joins us.

    About Kyoko, by Her Husband

My wife is gentle, patient and consistent. She is a great cook. Her homemade soup ans Asian dishes are delicious! She likes playing ping pong, and was a champion in her junior high school days. She also enjoys music and arts. She practiced Sado, a Japanese tea ceremony, in a traditional Kimono for years. She is ready for the challenge and joy of parenting and learning new things with a child.

Kyoko was born and raised in Japan and graduated from a Language Institute, majoring in English and German. After working for several large companies in Tokyo she is currently a full-time homemaker and is very much ready to be a full-time mom! She has been looking forward to parenting a child for her life.

    About Tamaki, Our Niece

Our niece, Tamaki joined us last year from Japan to live with us for years. She is 12 years old, and the daughter of Takashi's younger brother. We love having her with us! Our life was expanded so much since we welcomed her into our home. We enjoy our role as guardians and take lessons of parenting from her at the same time. She enjoys her middle school as well as a Japanese school on Saturdays. She is talented at music and art, and we have enjoyed watching her bloom. Tamaki is excited about our adoption plan and looking forward to playing with a cousin.

    Our Home and Environment

We love California and have lived here for 13 years. We  plan to stay in California permanently. We have a spacious four bedroom house with a nice backyard in San Jose. Our neighborhood is clean, quiet and family-oriented. We often see people walking by with baby strollers and children safely playing. On weekends we walk to the local parks, swim in a nearby pool, and visit the beautiful beaches nearby.

Although we are legal U.S. residents, the rest of our families live in Japan, so we visit to see our loved ones there. We will certainly continue to do this when a child joins our family.

    Our Value and Promise

As parents to be, we feel the most important job is to make our child healthy and happy. We will give unconditional love to our son or daughter. We will expose our child to all types of books, music, art and sports. Our child will grow up in a bilingual home and learn Japanese and English, as we use both languages in our daily lives. We will provide an environment conducive to learning and developing interests, so that he/she can reach their full potential. We will encourage our child to experience positively, be creative and work with others as part of daily life.

We will comfort, nurture and guide our child to the utmost. We will always love our son or daughter and grow side by side as a family. We will encourage our child to explore his/her values and choose his/her own religion and path in life. We hope our child to become a global citizen, who perceives and respects diversity of race and culture, and carry on world peace.

Thank you so much for reading our letter. We would like to get know you and have your thoughts and concerns on adoption. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Warmly,
